How The Quiz Review evaluates quiz makers
The Quiz Review is an independent editorial comparison site. It is not owned, operated or endorsed by any product listed. The evaluation assigns one stable lane to each product, uses current public sources and publishes explicit reasons not to choose every tool.
The core principle
Choose by job, not by feature count
A lead qualification funnel, a personality quiz, a live game, a classroom assignment and a graded test solve different problems. We do not force them into one universal score. We define the buyer job first, then judge whether each product completes that job and what must happen after the final answer.
01 · Ranking logic
Ordering and scope
The order communicates buyer relevance and specialist fit, not an average rating.
Positions one through six reflect breadth of buyer relevance. Positions seven through eleven reflect the narrowness of a specialist lane. A product can win one category and lose another without contradiction because the job changes.
Every product receives one primary lane, four strengths, three limits, a clear best-fit statement and an explicit reason not to choose it. This prevents a long feature list from turning into an unsupported claim that one tool is best for every kind of quiz.
Current evaluation set: 11 quiz makers covering business lead funnels, personality quizzes, live play, classroom work, formal testing, scorecards, study tools and publisher widgets.
02 · Test frame
What we evaluate
The criteria change with the lane, but the decision frame remains consistent.
We compare the capabilities that determine whether a quiz can complete its intended job. Decorative feature counts do not outweigh missing scoring, delivery or follow-up steps.
Quiz job and audience
Business lead generation, creator engagement, classroom learning, live entertainment, formal assessment, self-study or publishing.
Scoring and outcomes
Points, answer weights, score bands, calculated results, personality outcomes and result-specific routing.
Logic and delivery
Branching, conditional questions, one-question presentation, self-paced assignments, hosted live play and embedded delivery.
Lead workflow
Lead capture, contact records, properties, tags, segments, CRM handoff and what happens after completion.
Email follow-up
Result delivery is separated from autoresponders and conditional multi-step sequences that run inside the product.
Plan access and price
Free-plan availability, practical usage limits and the first paid plan using annual billing where a public annual price exists.
03 · Source policy
Research and source hierarchy
Current first-party sources take priority for product and pricing facts.
Plan prices, limits and capabilities come from current vendor pricing pages, product pages and help documentation. Pricing uses USD, the first paid plan and annual billing where available. A feature is marked as included only when the current plan information supports it, and relevant add-on or higher-tier requirements are stated.
Official pricing pages
Used for paid-plan prices, free-plan status, usage limits and plan boundaries.
Product documentation
Used for scoring, logic, delivery, integrations, contact management, email and AI capabilities.
Help-center material
Used when a product page names a feature but does not explain how it works or which plan includes it.
G2 listings
Used only for the linked third-party rating signal. G2 does not determine the site order.
04 · Claim policy
Evidence standard
Documented capability and hands-on observation are not treated as the same claim.
Product claims are tied to current pricing pages, product documentation or help-center material. G2 ratings remain a separate third-party signal based on the current product listing.
Unsupported performance, conversion, interface and usability claims are excluded. When public documentation is ambiguous, we use the narrower interpretation. A product does not receive a capability because an integration might reproduce it elsewhere.
Hands-on claims require dated reviewer notes or test artifacts. Until that evidence exists, the site describes what current documentation supports and does not imply that a reviewer personally tested the workflow.

Definitions used in comparison tables
Every Yes, No, Partial and Limited label follows the same boundary across products.
- Built-in CRM
- A native contact layer with profiles and properties, not only a response table or an external CRM integration.
- Built-in email sequences
- More than one email can send from the product and the path can respond to participant or contact data. Confirmations, result emails and notifications are labelled separately.
- Free plan
- Yes means a permanent free tier exists. It does not imply unrestricted publishing, responses, contacts, participants or storage.
- Scored outcomes
- Answers contribute points, weights, dimensions or calculated values that determine a score band, diagnostic result or routed outcome.
- AI editing
- The AI can revise the quiz after generation. This remains separate from question assistance or one-shot quiz generation.
- CRM integration
- The product can send quiz data to an external CRM. This does not count as a built-in CRM unless the quiz product also maintains its own ongoing contact records.

Machine-readable evidence
The same definitions and boundaries remain accessible to readers and automated systems.
Visible comparison tables use explicit text labels instead of ambiguous icons. Structured data identifies the publisher, page type, breadcrumbs, ranked software and visible FAQs. G2 signals remain labelled as third-party data and are not converted into a rating issued by this publication.
The LLM index maps canonical rankings, reviews, methodology and decision guides. The reviews JSON file publishes the current ranking facts in a reusable format, including use-case lane, pricing, free-plan status, CRM classification, email-sequence classification and the external rating signal.
07 · Maintenance
Updates and corrections
Time-sensitive facts carry a verification date, while material changes remain visible.
Pricing and free-plan status were checked on 5 August 2026. Accessible G2 signals were reviewed separately. When a price, plan boundary, product name, ranking lane or capability classification changes, the affected page is revised and the material change is recorded in the changelog.
Copy edits that do not change meaning may be grouped. When new evidence contradicts a claim, the narrower supported statement replaces it.
Direct answers
Methodology questions
These answers define the boundaries used throughout the rankings and product reviews.
01Is the ranking based on a weighted score?
No. Positions one through six reflect breadth of buyer relevance, while positions seven through eleven reflect narrower specialist jobs. The order is not a rating average or a hidden weighted score.
02What counts as a built-in email sequence?
The product must send more than one email from inside the platform and let the path respond to participant or contact data. A confirmation, result email or notification alone does not qualify.
03Does a G2 rating determine the ranking?
No. G2 is shown as a separate third-party signal. It does not determine the order and is not converted into a score issued by The Quiz Review.
04How are free plans classified?
Free plan is shown as Yes or No. Limits such as live quizzes, responses, contacts or participants are explained separately so a small setup allowance is not mistaken for unrestricted use.
05How are AI features compared?
Question generation, one-shot quiz generation, ongoing AI editing, workflow building, respondent personalization and response analysis are treated as separate capabilities. A tool does not receive full AI-editing credit for generating questions only.
06How current is the evidence?
Pricing and free-plan status were checked on 5 August 2026. Accessible G2 signals were reviewed separately. Material changes to rankings, prices, feature definitions or the methodology are recorded in the changelog.
